Alice Temperley is launching a new line of scarves.

The designer - who created Pippa Middleton's gown for the evening reception at last year's Royal Wedding - is thrilled to have the opportunity to focus on her first loves, ''prints and textiles''.

She told vogue.co.uk: ''I am really excited to launch a new collection dedicated to scarves. It has always been an important part of what we do, but now we can really focus on prints and textiles which is my first love.''

Each scarf will be hand-painted and range in price from £55 to £275. The collection will include a limited-edition Medal style launching in June, which will celebrate Britain's Olympics and Diamond Jubilee.

Alice also wanted to create a range of scarves because she loves wearing them herself.

She added: ''I wear scarves as part of an everyday uniform; it is a great wardrobe companion, perfect for travelling, doubling as a wrap on the beach or adding colour or a seasonal print to your outfit. With the opening of our first flagship store in the autumn, now is the right time to expand into new categories.''
