Plain White T's rocker Tim Lopez has signed up to search for love on a new U.S. dating show produced by actress Eva Longoria.
The Desperate Housewives star has been busy developing Ready for Love with bosses at TV network NBC and the programme, which will "give three successful and handsome men... the chance of finding their soul mate", is due to air this winter (12).
The identity of the three bachelors looking for love were unveiled on Thursday (19Apr12) as Longoria promoted the new show, and singer/songwriter Lopez is one of them.
The star insists he has no problem meeting girls, but he was intrigued by the concept of the programme, which utilises social media and features a matchmaking expert to help him find the right woman.
Speaking on U.S. breakfast show Today, he said, "I don't need help dating, really. (But) it's being on tour all the time, it doesn't really make it that easy to connect with someone. We travel from city to city, change cities every night. The amount of time you can spend with someone might be an hour, so, because a lot of my time is spent on tour, it's difficult."
And Longoria is convinced Lopez and his two fellow contestants will be a catch for any potential love match.
She added, "They have my stamp of approval. I interviewed hundreds of guys. The minute they walked in the room I knew these were the guys; they were pretty awesome."
Breast cancer survivor and E! News anchorwoman Giuliana Rancic will co-host the show with her husband, reality TV star Bill.
