SIR Elton John has agreed to sing on a track by British rapper Plan B to raise money for victims of the devastating floods in Pakistan last year (10).
The hip-hop star is releasing a cover of his single Hard Times with additional vocals by Sir Elton and U.K. singer Jessie J, and plans to donate proceeds to an appeal for victims.
Plan B - real name Ben Drew - admits he was inspired to go forward with the fundraiser after filming his directorial debut, Ill Manors, with Four Lions star Riz Ahmed.
He explains, "The reason why I first thought of doing the single is because of this guy Riz Ahmed in my film - he's Pakistani and he put on an event after the floods first happened.
"I felt it was wrong that probably because of the s**t going on in the Middle East with the war that, as Westerners, we didn't seem to give a f**k about Pakistani people.
"Kids were dying in floods, but it wasn't promoted heavily over here as it was going on. Haiti was promoted when that happened, but it didn't happen in Pakistan."
More than 1,500 people were killed in Pakistan after torrential downpours caused the worst flooding in the country for a century.
