Andy Burrows Announces New Single 'Light The Night' Released Dec 23rd 2013

December 23rd sees the release of Andy Burrows' new single, Light The Night (2013 Single Edit).  Taken from Burrows and Ilan Eshkeri's BAFTA-nominated soundtrack to The Snowman and The Snowdog, the single features in the iconic flying sequence of the film, just as 'Walking in the Air' featured in the flying sequence of The SnowmanT in 1982.  Light The Night (2013 Single Edit) has been remixed by Jeremy Wheatley for its release as a single, with additional vocals from The London Contemporary Voices.

Last Christmas, 11 million people in the UK watched The Snowman and The Snowdog for the first time on the 30th anniversary of the Raymond Briggs-penned classic, The Snowman.  The Briggs-endorsed follow-up, created by many of the same team that first brought the much-loved original The Snowman to life, came with a modern soundtrack by Ilan Eshkeri and Andy Burrows which underpinned the tale to beautiful effect.

Christmas 2013 sees The Snowman and The Snowdog grow, with international launches and, in the UK, further festive screenings of the film and the release of the soundtrack album itself.  The score for The Snowman and The Snowdog was recorded at Abbey Road Studios by the London Metropolitan Orchestra. The 60 piece ensemble was joined by a choir of Andy and Ilan's friends and musical collaborators, including Emmy The Great, Edith Bowman, All Angels, Celia Graham (Phantom of the Opera) and others. The score features piano from Tom Odell (whose debut album topped the charts earlier this year), violin from Haylie Ecker (former Bond member), guitar from Tim Wheeler (Ash) and drums from Dom Howard (Muse).

The Snowman and The Snowdog soundtrack will be brought to life this December, with a series of unique live-to-picture performances at London's Union Chapel on the evenings of Dec 12th, 13th and 14th, plus a matinee show (which is already SOLD OUT) on Dec 14th. Burrows and Eshkeri will be joined by the London Metropolitan Orchestra for a special live soundtracking of the film, before being joined by very special guests - including James Corden, Tom Odell, Melanie C, Emmy The Great & Tim Wheeler - for some classic seasonal and Christmas cover versions.
