Bbc Announces Music Video Festival 2011

The BBC Music Video Festival is providing an amazing showcase for new and emerging music acts and video producers.

The third Music Video Festival and the only of its kind in the UK, it is acclaimed nationally and internationally as one of the music video events of the year. For two weeks across the UK, the Festival will be screening music videos on the network of Big Screens in 20 town and city centres, giving the public access to work that they might never otherwise get to see. The BBC is also providing a platform for new and unsigned music as well as appreciating the work of established artists and directors, and this time have received submissions from all around the world.

The Festival also has a home at The Forum in Norwich, where it will be shown in Fusion, Europe's largest permanent panoramic HD digital screen - a unique display area. Fusion is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, with Free Entry.

Alongside the music video screening in Norwich, there will also be a number of high profile events and speakers: Jamal Edwards, founder of SBTV, the UK's leading online youth broadcaster; Jamie Thraves, director of videos for Radiohead and Coldplay and Ashley Dean of Broken Pixel, director of animations for artists such as I Like Trains.

As there were so many submissions from Europe this year, the festival is also holding the UK's first ever 'Cool Eurovision' night. This is the chance to show that the music and film making talent from countries such as Sweden, Israel, the Republic of Ireland, France and more is as inventive and creative as anywhere and not all of it like we get to see each year in the Eurovision Song Contest.
