Brother & Bones are an English 5-piece who write songs with the honesty of troubadours, the energy of punks, and the swagger of rock stars.
Richard Thomas who fronts the band is a master of the acoustic guitar and piano, with a soul-bearing, almost holy power to his voice. Combined with the other four Brother & Bones members, the power and sincerity with which he sings is an unescapable force. Si Robinson's bass guitar snarls and grinds while delivering axe-wielding precision. The furious yet immensely melodic guitar work of James Willard is a perfect compliment to the blues-folk roots of Thomas's songs. Drummer Yiannis Sachinis offers the band's heartbeat, turning great rock songs into stomping, unrelenting behemoths while Robin Howell Sprent's complex and rhythmical percussion weaves textures and layers into the band's explosive live sets. All highly gifted musicians in their own right, the stage is undoubtedly this band's natural home.
Brother & Bones extensive touring over the last 18 months - from small bars to festival stages - has won them a big following, and nominations for various awards includingBest Live Band at Live Music Awards 2012 and Best Live Band at AIM Awards2013, plus endorsements with Takamine guitars, Gretsch drums, Deusenberg guitars, Daddario strings and Fender.
Brother & Bones have previously toured with Brit Award winner Ben Howard and are currently on a major-city European support tour with The Boxer Rebellion (whom they will also be supporting at The Forum, London on Friday 11th October).
The band's 4 track To Be Alive EP is released on Monday 4th November via their own label - Last Step Records.
