Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. New Album 'The Speed Of Things' Out On October 21st 2013
After the positive comparisons to The Beatles, The Beach Boys and classic Motown that emerged after their released their debut album 'It's A Corporate World', Detroit duo Josh Epstein and DanielZott - better known as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. - will release their second album 'The Speed of Things'on October 21st on Warner Bros. Records.
'The Speed of Things' was produced by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and Ben West with all songs written by both Epstein and Zott. "We really couldn't be more excited to release The Speed of Things," they explain. "It's a record that means a great deal to us, as it focuses on the size and speed of the world today. Everything is moving faster and faster as we are all much more connected by the global central nervous system that is the internet. Often it feels like when one realises what they wish to do, it's impossible to know where to begin due to the scale of everything. We're a generation full of false starts."
The album's next single, the leftfield disco anthem 'If You Didn't See Me (Then You Weren't On The Dancefloor)' will be released on October 20th. Recently #1 at Hype Machine, the single has been launched with a memorable, light-hearted video and a stunning national TV performance on Conan O'Brien.
Accompanying remixes include the Amtrac mix which was recently premiered at Clash, plus further new versions crafted by Detroit collective GoldenboyZ, the Oxford-based producer Chad Valley who has previously remixed Foals, and Paris electronic musician DATA.
In addition to 'If You Didn't See Me (Then You Weren't On The Dancefloor)', other highlights of 'The Speed of Things' includes the recent Stateside single 'Dark Water' and closing track 'War Zone'.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. are modern day musicians not resigned to a certain category. They can go from playing an acoustic performance in the morning, to a fully plugged in sonic spectacular in the evening to a sweaty late night DJ set. If there's one thing they're not, it's artists stuck in the proverbial box. 'The Speed Of Things' puts all that is great about Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. on display.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. will be touring North America with Atlas Genius until mid-November. They will also play two London shows at The Borderline and at the Gold Dust club night at the Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen on October 21st and 23rd respectively.
