Devlin, Delilah, Hadouken! And More Announced For Brownstock Festival 2013
Adding to an already stellar line-up, the Brownstock Festival 2013 today announced further additions to the billing. Holding court on this Essex farm in the summer are Delilah, Devlin, Hadouken!, King Charles, Krafty Kuts and The Milk.
These acts will join The Fratellis, Mark Ronson, The Pigeon Detectives, Benga & Youngman, Roni Size, DJ Yoda, The Cuban Brothers and Doorly who were previously annouced.
Also new to the billing are Man Get Out, Stealing Signs, Bambi, F.O.X, Créme De Chèvre and Grizzly Bears.
Festival organiser, Adam Brown, said: "We're putting together names which are going to make sure this is the biggest party Essex sees this year".
London singer/songwriter Delilah is signed to Atlantic Records, and explains her music as dark, soulful, melodic pop. She featured in the song 'Time' by UK electronic duo Chase & Status and has recently sold out London's Shepherds Bush Empire.
Signed to Island Records and self described as the UK's number one lyricist, Devlin's debut album, Bud, Sweat and Beers, sold over 100,000 copies. The Dagenham hip hop rapper is set to ruffle a few more feathers this summer.
And bringing the flavour of the north to the party, Leeds Grindie band, Hadouken! have their own label, Surface Noise Records. Their homemade video for new single 'Levitate' went viral and has been viewed over 25million times on YouTube.
With a sound defined by NME as "bright and exuberant skank-pop", King Charles was the first ever Brit to win the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville. He is also seen as a reggae-indie Adam Ant - this may be something you have to see up close and personal.
Eight times Breakspoll Winner, Best International DJ and Best Single of the Year by DJ Mag, Krafty Kuts is seen as a living legend of electronic music. He brings the best in bass-driven music and party vibes to Brownstock.
The Milk, totally home-grown talent from the darkest corners of Essex, , is on a mission to put the spirit of soul and R&B back into today's music. Adding a frisky cocktail of subversive soul-pop to the line-up, they might just be already doing this.
With so much excitement in the air, tensions are riding even higher with the announcement that there is a Very Special Guest still to be revealed.
Brownstock Music Festival is an independent boutique festival run by the Brown family on their farm near Chelmsford, Essex. This year, it runs 30th Aug -1st Sept 2013.
It takes place at Morris Farm, Lower Burnham Road, Stow Maries, Chelmsford, Essex, CM3 6SG.
Now in its ninth year, the festival is set to welcome 6,000 visitors through the gates in September. The festival is still completely independent, with a uniquely rustic and handmade feel. Music, treehouse stage, comedy, storytelling, street art camp, skateboarding park, parquour displays, dance tent, a silent disco and the chance to try a home raised Aberdeen Angus Beef from the farm at the "Brownstock Sunday Roast" are some of the things to look forward to during the three day event
