Gold And Youth Announce Us Release Of 'Beyond Wilderness' On March 25th 2014

Vancouver, BC quartet, Gold & Youth, have announced that their debut album, Beyond Wilderness, will receive a U.S. release date, March 25 on Arts & Crafts, just in time for the band to commence a three-week tour of North America supporting The Jezabels - the tour kicks off March 26 in Los Angeles, wrapping April 17 in Washington DC (full dates below).
 
Beyond Wilderness was originally released in the band's native Canada in late spring 2013, followed by a fall release in the UK, receiving tremendous praise in both. Gold & Youth spent the year touring relentlessly, including SXSW and CMJ in the U.S., NXNE, Field Trip, Canadian Music Week in Canada, The Great Escape in the UK, and dates supporting Tegan and Sara, Fun., and Diamond Rings.
 
Comprised of Matthew Lyall, Murray Mckenzie, Jeff Mitchelmore and Louise Burns, the latter also known for her own solo work, Beyond Wilderness was produced by Colin Stewart (New Pornographers/Black Mountain) and mixed by Gareth Jones (Grizzly Bear/Interpol), drawing on the aesthetics and instrumentation of 1980's New Romantics and Industrial acts. Dark and expansive, synthetic textures are punctuated by programmed drums and interwoven with melancholy vocals, detuned synth melodies and understated guitars, slowly drawing the listener deeper and deeper inside.
