Natural History Museum Ice Rink Now Open

LONDON, 2 November 2012: One of the hottest tickets in London's winter calendar, the  Natural History Museum Ice Rink is now open for all to enjoy. Last night marked the official launch of the Natural Histroy Museum Ice Rink and was attended by a host of celebrity guests keen to join in the festive spirit. Guests including Stacey Soloman, Jo Whiley, Heidi Range, The Only Way Is Essex stars Lydia Bright, Tom Kilbey, Jessica Wright, Ricky Rayment, Made in Chelsea's Kimberley Gardner, Team GB medallist Mark Hunter and The Loveable Rogues enjoyed the magical skating experience and feasted on delicious canapés and mulled wine. 

Set within the magnificentgrounds of the Natural History Museum, the Ice Rink has become an unmissable part of London's winter scene since it first opened in 2005. Attracting beginners and advanced skaters alike, as well as those simply wanting to enjoy the magicalatmosphere, the impressive 1,000 square metre ice rink is one of London's must-see winter attractions. For the first time ever, there will be a  spectacular Christmas tree in the middle of the rink, sourced from the Windsor Estate. Thousands of twinkling fairy lights adorn the Christmas tree and thetrees overhanging the rink .Framed by one of London's landmark locations, the Natural History Museum Ice Rink is the perfect place to spend a crisp winter's evening. 

This year, the Natural History Museum Ice Rink welcomes Starbucks Coffee Company as lead sponsor. Skaters will be able to warm up with the Red Cup favourites from Starbucks, choosing from the Gingerbread Latte, Eggnog Latte or Praline Mocha, the perfect accompaniment to the festive atmosphere. 

As well as taking in the beautiful surroundings, guests can warm up in the cosmopolitan Café Bar, offering an extensive menu of sumptuous food and drinks, with entertainment for all to enjoy. The Café Bar provides a perfect destination in its own right, where friends can sip on Christmas cocktails, families can feast on festive treats, colleagues can mingle overmulled wine and music, and couples can cosy up with a hot chocolate on the open-air balcony overlooking the rink.
