When The Barr Brothers last descended on UK shores they were hailed 'one of Canada's best-kept secrets'. Since then, their contemporary take on harmony-filled folk, gut-busting blues and far-out African rhythms has stunned crowds at Montreal Jazz Festival, Iceland Airwaves and The Great Escape, they've performed on Letterman, been handpicked to support The National and Patrick Watson on tour, and their self-titled debut album has been nominated as an alternative album of the year in Canada's 2013 Juno awards. Safe to say the secret is out. Unbeknown to band member and classically trained harpist Sarah Pagé, the group evolved after her new next-door neighbour Brad Barr began adding guitar parts to her practice sessions heard through their apartments' dividing wall. A while later Brad's bonafide brother Andrew (percussion, drums) and good friend Andrés Vial (bass, keyboards) joined in. "We've got a lot of songs," reveals Sarah, of the band already working on their next record. "Some of them we're playing live, some of them we're just starting to explore but we're thrilled to be making another album - who knows how many walls we'll have to go through this time before it comes out!"
