Brooklyn indie-pop stalwarts The Pains of Being Pure at Heart return today with 'Eurydice': a fresh cut from their forthcoming third album, Days of Abandon.

The album is set for a June 2 release in the UK on the esteemed Fierce Panda Records.

It comes off the back of two critically-acclaimed records - 2009's self-titled debut and its 2011 follow-up, Belong - that demonstrated the group's ability to shift musical registers from bedroom pop daydreams to Alternative Nation anthems.

The album was recorded at new Greenpoint studio House Under Magic which is owned by longtime Pains cohort Danny Taylor (ZaZa). Produced by Andy Savours (My Bloody Valentine, Patrick Wolf, Cloud Boat) and mixed by Charlie Hugall at  London's Engine Room (Swim Deep, Florence And the Machine), Abandon departs from the exaggerated roar and clamor that defined the Flood-and-Alan Moulder helmed Belong.

"I didn't want to make Belonger," Berman says. "This album was a chance to step back from that universal style of songwriting to something that was far more personal, more in keeping with my original ideals. I wanted the music to be joyful and full of light, even if the subjects were often dark."

The album artwork prominently features newly celebrated South Korean artist Lee Jinju's work, The Material of Mind.

The band is currently on tour in the US with Ablebody and the much-hyped Fear of Men. UK dates follow later this year, with shows as follows:

June 29 | The Fleece, Bristol
June 30 | The Cluny, Newcastle
July 1 | Mono, Glasgow
July 2 | The Ruby Lounge, Manchester
July 3 | Scala, London
July 7-10 | Beacons Festival, Skipton

Track List:
1. Art Smock
2. Simple and Sure
3. Kelly
4. Beautiful You
5. Coral and Gold
6. Eurydice
7. Masokissed
8. Until the Sun Explodes
9. Life After Life
10. The Asp at My Chest

Days of Abandon is available from June 2 in the UK on Fierce Panda.
