Zhu Shares 'The Nightday' Full Ep Stream [Listen]

In just a few weeks elusive LA artist and producer ZHU has become a closely followed name within the online music community and one of 2014's most hotly tipped new artists. The announcement of his debut release 'The Nightday' EP, along with new track 'Paradise Awaits', was greeted with a groundswell of excitement, with the track clocking up a head spinning quarter million plays in a little over a week.

Released worldwide today and with a special UK release in the months to follow, and already simultaneously shooting to #1 in the Australian single and album iTunes charts, ZHU's much anticipated full body of work 'The Nightday' EP is now available to stream in its entirety via Soundcloud and available to purchase via iTunes. Across it's 6 tracks, 'The Nightday' EP is a resoundingly bold and impressive mission statement, which is primarily distinguished by its addictive celebration of carefree irreverence and hedonistic dancefloor infatuation.

Filled with cascading liquid synths, propulsive beats and slinky vocals hooks, 'The Nightday' EP showcases the unbridled creativity and enticing allure at the core of ZHU's craft. Drawing from a range of genres from house to disco to garage to hip-hop and soul, coupled with his distinctly captivating voice, ZHU spins these elements into a potent concoction entirely of his own, perhaps best summed up by his self-penned moniker for the genre - ¯\_(?)_/¯.

ZHU made his distinctive introduction at the beginning of February when a series of anonymous tracks including an electronic medley of Outkast tracks and two originals, surfaced online and seemingly out of nowhere took tastemakers and casual listeners alike by storm. Through word of mouth and excitement across the blogosphere they accumulated well over a combined a million plays on Soundcloud in just a few weeks, were featured and raved about across a plethora of major dance music publications including MTV, Dancing Astronaut and Billboard and enjoyed spins and accolades from Pete Tong, MistaJam and Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra. Equally impressively, one of the tracks, 'Faded', ascended to become Triple J's #1 most played track of the week, further demonstrating that enthusiasm with this elusive new artist knows no geographical boundaries.
