Charles To Be Quizzed On Diana Death
The 31 August (97) car crash, in which Diana's lover Dodi Fayed and their chauffeur HENRI PAUL were also killed, was thought to have been a tragic accident after Paul was over the legal alcohol limit for driving.
But a number of conspiracy theories have arisen since, including that Paul was a secret service agent, and that the accident was arranged by senior members of the royal family.
As a result British police have opened a new inquiry, headed by commissioner SIR JOHN STEVENS - who will talk to everyone involved with the case.
Charles will be quizzed in relation to an alleged letter Diana wrote 10 months before her death, in which she said, "This phase of my life is the most dangerous - my husband is planning 'an accident' in my car, brake failure and serious head injury to make the path clear to marry."
A source says, "They will certainly have to put the allegation to him that he had his wide killed and allow him to deny it formally."06/12/2004 17:32
