Prince William and his new bride Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge planted an Eastern Hemlock tree to symbolise their love on Friday (01Jul11) during their first official state visit to Canada. The couple joined in the Canada Day festivities in Ottawa and then took part in the Rodeau Hall tree-planting tradition, as William's parents Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales did in 1983, and his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, did in 1977.
