Britain's Prince William and Princess Catherine have jetted off on honeymoon.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - who married at London's Westminster Abbey on April 29 - flew to the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean on a private jet yesterday (09.05.11) for a 10-day romantic break at a £4,000-a-night villa.

A royal insider said: "I think that for the first few days at least William and Catherine will just want a bit of privacy.

"After the glitter and excitement of their wedding and all the organisation it involved, they can't wait to spend some quality time on their own."

Their destination has been described as pure luxury with one source telling Britain's Daily Mail: "It's one of the most incredible places you will ever visit and Catherine will have the time of her life. It's everything you could want from a honeymoon destination and more - beautiful beaches, tropical seas and complete privacy."

A spokesman for St James's Palace added: "We are not confirming and we are not commenting on speculation on where they may be going on their private honeymoon, we are just confirming that they have gone.

"The couple have asked that their privacy be respected during their honeymoon."

The couple were forced to postpone their trip as William had to return to work as a Royal Air Force (RAF) search-and-rescue pilot immediately after the wedding.
