British royal Prince William has graduated from Sandhurst military academy toaday (15DEC06) as an officer of the British army. The 24-year-old must now undertake a further four month training course before moving up the ranks to Troop Commander. However, William's status as second in line to the throne means he is unlikely to fight front-line battles with the force. William's girlfriend Kate Middleton was in attendance at the passing out ceremony in London, as well as his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, the symbolic head of the British armed forces, who spoke at the event.
