Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has stripped Rolf Harris of his Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (Cbe) title following his sex crime conviction.

The disgraced entertainer was sentenced to nearly six years behind bars in June (14) for molesting four young girls, and he was subsequently stripped of several titles, including his official Australian honours and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) fellowship he was awarded in 2012.

The move prompted calls for the British monarchy to follow suit by taking away his Cbe, and on Tuesday (03Mar15), an official statement posted in U.K. government publication the London Gazette revealed Queen Elizabeth Ii has annulled the award.

The statement reads, "The Queen has directed that the appointment of Rolf Harris to be a Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated 17 June 2006, shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name shall be erased from the Register of the said Order."

Harris was given the accolade by the Queen for his services to the arts and entertainment in 2006.
