Rachel McAdams will marry Channing Tatum in a new movie.

The 'Notebook' actress has signed up to appear opposite the 'Dear John' star in romantic drama 'The Vow', replacing Julia Roberts who was first attached to the project when it was initially marked for development more than a decade ago.

The film follows a newlywed couple who are hit by tragedy when they are in a car crash.

Rachel's character slips into a coma and much to the distress of her husband, when she awakes she has no recollection of her marriage or even who her spouse is.

Channing then sets about trying to woo his wife and make her fall in love with him again.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, 'Grey Gardens' helmsman Michael Sucsy is attached to direct the project.

Prior to working in the film, Rachel will next begin work on Woody Allen's new movie 'Midnight in Paris' with Owen Wilson, Michael Sheen and Marion Cotillard and then moves on to an untitled Terrence Malick project.

Channing is currently working on 'Cheaters' with Vince Vaughn and Kevin James.
