Radiohead are ''shattered'' by the dead of their drum tech in an accident this weekend.

The 'Lotus Flower' group were shocked when the roof of the stage in Downsview Park Toronto, Canada, collapsed ahead of their scheduled show on Saturday (16.06.12).

Three people were injured and 33-year-old Scott Johnson lost his life in the tragedy.

Posting on the band's website, drummer Philip Selway said: ''We have all been shattered by the loss of Scott Johnson, our friend and colleague. He was a lovely man, always positive, supportive and funny; a highly skilled and valued member of our great road crew. We will miss him very much. Our thoughts and love are with Scott's family and all those close to him.''

The reason for the stage collapse is still unknown, but weather conditions are not thought to have been to blame. Canadian authorities are due to begin an investigation into collapse as soon as the structure and the surrounding area have been made safe.

The accident happened an hour before the park was due to open to ticket holders, and queues were already forming outside. Emergency crews responded and the area was evacuated. All those injured were part of the road crew setting up the show, the names of the other injured members have yet to be released.
