THE DOORS stars Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger refuse to name a permanent drummer for their reunion shows and planned studio recording because they still hope former bandmate John Densmore will join them.

The duo reformed the rock group two years ago (02) with former The Police drummer Stewart Copeland, after Densmore revealed he was too ill to tour.

The original Doors drummer has since launched litigation against his former bandmates over the reunion, insisting the reformation is wrong.

But Manzarek hasn't given up on a full reunion - with Densmore.

He says, "We're hoping in 2004 John will put aside his differences and come play live. We'll see what happens."
