REM, Pearl Jam and Sir Paul McCartney have donated tracks to compilation FOR THE LADY, a benefit album for imprisoned Burmese peace activist AUNG SAN SUU KYI.

Kyi, who won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1991, has been under house arrest for the past decade.

Other acts featured on the double album, which will be released next month (OCT04) include U2, Coldplay, Avril Lavigne, Peter Gabriel, Eric Clapton and Sting, who offered a Spanish-language version of his hit FRAGILE.
