Renee Zellweger makes guests wear hospital booties inside her home.
The 40-year-old actress is reportedly so terrified of germs making their way into her New York home, she refuses to let anyone in unless their feet are fully covered.
A source said: "Renee believes that shoes are frequently contaminated with dirt and dangerous bacteria. Her friends think it's a bit over the top, but they always end up having a laugh when they go sliding around on her slippery floors!"
It's not just shoes Renee dislikes, she also refuses entry to anyone who hasn't got their socks covered.
Renee is not the only celebrity who is obsessed with hygiene.
Last year, it was claimed Jennifer Lopez - who has 17-month-old twins Max and Emme with husband Marc Anthony - had become a "germaphobe" since becoming a mother, and was making guests use antiseptic hand lotion and wear surgical masks before they could enter the nursery.
A source said: "She is also paranoid about hygiene. The twins' wing is totally sterile and all flowers and presents are stored in a separate area so they don't contaminate the babies' area."
