Richard Gere is to be honoured at the 20th annual Hamptons Film Festival in New York next month (Oct12).
The Pretty Woman star has been named the 2012 recipient of the Golden Starfish Award For Lifetime Achievement In Acting.
Gere will be presented with his latest accolade at a gala event in East Hampton on 6 October (12) and will follow a Conversation With Richard Gere, which will be moderated by the festival's honorary chairman and previous recipient of the prize, Alec Baldwin.
Karen Arikian, the executive director of the Hamptons International Film Festival, says, "Richard Gere's outstanding body of work speaks for itself. Richard's phenomenal talent and social activism has showcased his passion and heart. We are thrilled to present him with the Golden Starfish Award."
