Comedian Ricky Gervais turned down the chance to star in a Woody Allen movie, after discovering the director had cast minor British TV stars. The Office star accuses the legendary film maker of being seduced into hiring 'nobodies' because of his love of the British accent. Gervais tells the New York Daily News, "I thought, that's no fun. This is the Woody Allen who doesn't know. He thinks these people are all good because he likes the accent. Woody Allen isn't Woody Allen anymore." But Allen has responded to Gervais' claims, saying, "I don't know what he means. I have no idea what picture we offered him. He may be 100 per cent right for all I know."
