Ricky Gervais says he is considering an offer to host the GOLDEN GLOBES for a third time.
RICKY GERVAIS, the British comedian and actor, has been "asked to consider" hosting the GOLDEN GLOBES in 2012.
The 49-year-old received mixed reviews for his hosting of this year's ceremony and many commentators were scathing in their criticism, accusing Gervais of insulting Hollywood's biggest stars. However, the likes of Christian Bale praised the comedian for his performance and the organisers are keen for him to return. Speaking recently to Heat Magazine, 'The Office' star said, "The ratings went up again and the organisers asked me to consider a third year. I don't know what I could do better. I certainly couldn't get more press for them, that's for sure". As well as his invitation to return to the Globes, Gervais has also confirmed he will be making a second appearance on The Simpsons. He wrote and starred in a 2006 episode of the hit cartoon entitled 'This Is Your Wife'.
During his hosting of this year's GOLDEN GLOBES, Gervais introduced Robert Downey Jr by saying, "Many of you in this room probably know him best from such facilities as the Betty Ford Clinic and Los Angeles County Jail", while also making reference to Charlie Sheen's apparent 'partying' and the age difference between Demi Moore and ASHTON KUTCHER.
