Devastated director Sir Ridley Scott has halted work on his new film The Counselor to be with his family following the death of his brother Tony on Sunday (19Aug12).
The Top Gun filmmaker, 68, jumped to his death from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles and his body was recovered by divers several hours later.
His sibling and fellow director Ridley was spotted at at London's Heathrow Airport on Monday (20Aug12) waiting to catch a flight to L.A., where he is expected to comfort his sister-in-law, Donna Wilson Scott, and his twin nephews.
It has now emerged he has suspended shooting on his new project, which stars Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz, in London to deal with the tragic news, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Reports suggest Tony Scott was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer before his death, although the speculation is yet to be confirmed.
