Bosses At Dc Comics Have Filed Paperwork Opposing Rihanna's Bid To Trademark Her First Name Robyn.
The Stay hitmaker, real name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, applied to register her first name in June, 2014 with the view to "providing on-line non-downloadable general feature magazines".
Representatives for comic book publisher DC submitted a Notice of Opposition at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on 11 May (15), arguing that her application is too similar to the name of Batman's sidekick Robin, which has a variety of trademarks, some of which date back to the 1980s.
In the legal document, they claim Rihanna's proposed online magazine is "identical and/or highly related" to DC products and "consumers are likely to be deceived" into believing the goods and services are associated.
