British rockers Rise To Remain have split after finishing work on their second album.

The group premiered a new song from the record during their appearance at the Download music festival in Britain last summer (14), but it now appears the project has been abandoned as the musicians go their separate ways.

A statement posted on Facebook.com by frontman Austin DICkinson reveals the split was triggered by the departure of guitarist Ben Tovey and drummer Adam Lewin.

DICkinson writes, "It's with a mixture of sadness and excitement that we reveal to everybody that Rise To Remain is no more... Living the dream, in many cases, is not enough to hold it all together when the band is not stable... And after putting together the second record, Adam told us he... couldn't continue, leading Ben to quit music altogether. To continue the band at this point, with as many line up changes as its had... seems pointless.

"I wouldn't say that this news is necessarily unexpected... We don't feel any blame or animosity... I will miss Rise To Remain in its good times. I was shown a world of opportunities I never thought would be possible."

The singer plans to launch a new group called As Lions with fellow former Rise To Remain members Conor O'Keefe and Will Homer.
