Rita Ora takes being compared to Rihanna as a ''compliment''.

The budding R&B signer's debut single, 'R.I.P.' - which features Tinie Tempah - was first offered to Rihanna, and Rita is honoured to be compared to the star.

The 21-year-old told Digital Spy: ''It's a compliment to be compared to someone like her.

''She's so successful and an amazing woman. I'd rather be compared to her than someone not as successful, so it's good. I'll Take That!''

Rita is also closely mentored by Jay-Z, boss of the label Roc Nation which she is signed to.

Talking of the rap mogul, she said: ''He's so chilled. He lets you grow. He doesn't influence your music at all, he just helps you. He lets you do your own thing.

''He's a great boss. He knows his stuff and what it takes to be successful. I'm really lucky to have someone that loves music as well as knows the business.''

Rita has already collaborated with Chase and Status, will.i.am and The Dream, but her album is still unfinished.

She added: ''For me it's not wrapped up until it's put on the shelves!''

Rita will also be supporting Coldplay during their upcoming summer 2012 arena tour.
