British actors Robbie Coltrane and Jim Broadbent are being lined up to star in a big-budget BBC production of children's classic THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS.

HARRY POTTER star Coltrane and Gangs of New York's Broadbent top the list of potential names wanted for the live-action project.

Executive producer GUB NEAL says, "We're looking for big, identifiable actors. For example, if you went for Robbie Coltrane or Jim Broadbent, it would be great fun thinking of the animals you'd cast them as.

"Jim Broadbent playing RATTY, and Robbie playing BADGER - it lends itself to some spectacular casting. The Wind In The Willows has been done many times, but not as a full life-size film version."

Shooting is expected to begin early next year (05). The movie is likely to be screened as a Christmas special on the BBC at the end of 2005.
