Legendary actor Robert De Niro is returning to his Mafia-character roots with acclaimed director Michael Mann. The two-time Oscar winning actor, best known for gangster movies including Goodfellas and Casino, and Mann last joined forces on the critically-acclaimed 1995 crime thriller Heat. Now the pair are working on Frankie MAChine, based on the Don Winslow novel The Winter Of Frankie MAChine, in which De Niro will play a former mobster forced out of retirement.
