Robert Pattinson might have had his personal life turned upside down by Kristen Stewart's recent affair but he's not going to let the news of her infidelity rock the boat as far as his career is concerned. Pattinson has been busy sorting his head out, in the privacy of Reese Witherspoon's holiday home, and now we learn that the Twilight star is due to make his first post-split public appearance on August 13, 2012.

Yesterday, R-Patz's rep strenuously denied rumours that had begun to surface that he had cancelled some of his scheduled promotional appearances for his forthcoming movie Cosmopolis. And today, E! Online reports that Pattinson is due to appear at the movie's New York premiere on August 13. Additionally, a rep for The New York Times' TimesTalk series has confirmed that he is still currently expected to appear at an August 15 event, along with David Cronenberg. It would certainly be a shame if recent events upturned Pattinson's working life. His passion for the David Cronenberg-directed movie Cosmopolis was evident when the film received its airing at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, and marks a significant step in Pattinson's post-Twilight career, allowing him to shake the inevitable stereotypes that come with playing a character in a hugely popular franchise.

Last week, it emerged that Kristen Stewart had been having an affair with Rupert Sanders, the director of Snow White and the Huntsman. Stewart issued a public apology for the affair. Sanders is married to the actress Liberty Ross, alongside whom Kristen starred in the movie.
