Veteran actor Robert Redford finds it difficult selecting which films he wants to star in, because he has no interest in big-budget spectaculars.

The ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN star carefully chooses the parts presented to him, but admits he has a tough time wading through the numerous scripts.

He tells British magazine Empire, "The fascination is with different kinds of films than the ones I'm interested in.

"It's harder to get the money for those films. It's easier to get money for a large action film that costs $150 million, like Alexander and KINGDOM OF Heaven.

"But the films I'm interested in, they don't get much money because the studios don't see that there would be a return from them. Studios are more likely to invest in those types of movies rather than unique, darker, more reality-based stories."
