Roger Daltrey and AC DC bass player CLIFF WILLIAMS have joined the list of rockers teaming up for a benefit concert in New York to raise cash to cover the medical expenses of GRAND FUNK RAILROAD star MARK FARNER's sick son.
The duo will join Farner, Kip Winger and Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke, among others, for an all-star jam at New York’s B.B. King’s Blues Club on Monday (17Jan11).
Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward the medical expenses of Farner’s 21-year-old son, Jesse, who suffered a serious neck injury resulting from a fall last year (10) and remains in intensive care.
Daltrey tells WENN, "I’m humbled to be able to help Jesse and the Farners in any way I can. We are all very fortunate, in our business, to be able to give back. And sometimes circumstances demand that we give back to our brothers and sisters in the rock and roll business."
Thrilled Farner says, "Roger is a man’s man with a good heart, and that means more to me than anything either of us has accomplished in music. On behalf of our son, Jesse, and family, the Farners extend our gratitude to Roger and his family, Cliff Williams of AC DC... and our friends and fans in rock and roll."
