Rock legends THE Rolling Stones are reportedly planning to surprise fans with a free concert in Toronto this summer (03).

The Canadian city has recently been suffered a tidal wave of concert cancellation as a result of the SARS virus.

SIR Elton John and Arab Strap are among acts to have pulled out of gigs in Toronto.

But the Rolling Stones - who have in the past used small venues in the city to rehearse tours - are ready to come to the rescue.

According to reports, the rock legends' Toronto gig will take place at the DOWNSVIEW air base at the end of July (03).

If the show goes through as planned, the band would interrupt their European tour to jet to Canada.
