Ronnie Wood is hoping to persuade his Rolling Stones bandmates to headline this summer's (Jun13) Glastonbury festival in England at a group meeting next month (Mar13).

The guitarist has revealed the rockers are regrouping in March (13) to discuss plans to extend their 50th anniversary celebrations, which began last year (12) with five dates in London, New York and New Jersey - and he is keen to make his debut at the iconic British summer event.

He tells The Independent newspaper, "We've got a meeting next month and that's going to be my first question to them. It's something I've always been interested in. I'm going to twist their arms. I've got lots of high hopes this year, now that we're all rehearsed - let's get it cracking this summer!"
