Hollywood actor Rupert Everett has sold the British rights to his raunchy autobiography to publishing giants TIME Warner yesterday (21MAY05) for an alleged $1.9 million (GBP1 million).

And the homosexual actor's outrageous kiss-and-tell book, which was at the centre of a bidding war between nine major publishers until Time Warner clinched the deal with the staggering fee, is set to rake in even more money for the MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING star when the US rights are sold this summer (05).

Although the company refuses to confirm the figure, a senior publishing source at Time Warner says, "If the figure is right, Everett is going to have to reveal quite a lot to earn the money back."

And 45-year-old Everett is unlikely to disappoint, as the book boasts lurid descriptions of his dalliance with prostitution and heavy drug use, not to mention a string of star-studded friendships with the likes of Madonna and Paula Yates.

However, Time Warner promises "it will be the sweetest kiss-and-tell book ever published."
