Russell Brand Has Pulled Out Of An Appearance At The Tribeca Film Festival In New York City Due To "Family Issues".
The actor/comedian was scheduled to appear at the U.S. premiere of his documentary project with director Michael Winterbottom, The Emperor's New Clothes, on Friday (24Apr15), but he has cancelled the promotional trip so he can stay in London.
In a post on his official website, he explains, "I'm really sorry that I can't get to the Tribeca Film Festival today. I was going to be there to support this brilliant and important film - that I have made (with Michael, he did the brilliant stuff - I'm not a raging narcissist) - but family issues mean I have to stay in London. I learnt a lot making the film. Everyone should watch it..."
Brand has not revealed the nature of the family issue.
