Russell Brand was kicked out of a star-studded bash after he branded founder of Hugo Boss - sponsor of the GQ Awards - a ''Nazi'' during the awards ceremony in London on Tuesday night (03.09.13).
Russell Brand was kicked out of an exclusive party after he branded Hugo Boss a ''Nazi.''
The 38-year-old star offended GQ magazine editor Dylan Jones at the GQ Awards in London on Tuesday night (03.09.13), after he referred to the history of the ceremony's sponsors Hugo Boss, as their founder became a member of the National Socialist Party in Germany in 1931 and supplied uniforms to the Sturmabteilung, Schutzstaffel, Hitler Youth, National Socialist Motor Corps, and other party organisations.
A source told The Sun newspaper: ''Dylan Jones was absolutely furious that Russell had shown his face after embarrassing the show's sponsor. It's always a risk having a livewire like Russell at your event.''
The comedian was who is known for being outspoken, often voicing controversial or inappropriate comments, was glad to leave.
The source explained: ''Russell himself appeared to be more than happy to leave. He was standing up for what he believes in and was never going to back down.
''He found being asked to leave hilarious and even barked, 'Nazi sympathisers' as he was kicked out.''
He was thrown out in front of shocked celebrities, including James Corden and Jeremy Clarkson.
The source added: ''But it was hugely awkward for other guests at the party who didn't know where to look.''
Russell stood strong with his words and took to twitter to share the conversation he had with Dylan with his fans, even though the company formally apologised in 2011 for their maltreatment of 140 Polish and 40 French workers.
He tweeted: ''GQ editor: 'What you did was very offensive to Hugo Boss'. Me: 'What Hugo Boss did was very offensive to the Jews'.''
