Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons has agreed to let MTV bosses show off his old dream home on their CRIBS programme - as a tribute to those who lost their lives in 9/11.

Simmons and his wife KIMORA filmed the show at home show in their swanky Manhattan high-rise apartment just before the terrorist attacks on New York in 2001, and they've since moved out.

But Simmons has agreed to let MTV show fans where the couple used to live as long as they also screen footage of the destroyed Twin Towers, and broadcast a special message to those who lost their lives, at the end of the film.

In the short film, the Def Jam founder and his model wife take MTV cameras to the roof of their property and show off the view they had of the Manhattan skyline.

Simmons reveals, "It's beautiful at sunset, and it's even prettier at night when the buildings are all lit up."

After the footage, a message reads, "Due to the events of 9/11, Russell and Kimora's building sustained massive structural damage. Fortunately, they were safe from harm and have since moved to a new home.

"Our deepest condolences go out to those that were not as fortunate."
