Double 2012 Olympic champion, swimmer Ryan Lochte is now looking to make a splash on American TV, with the 28 year-old being confirmed to make a cameo in the hit US teen drama '90210'. The Hollywood Reporter writes that it will be a TV debut for the athlete, whose natural good looks are likely to make him something of a star in the wake of his performances in London - which took him to 11 career Olympic medals in total.
"When we found out Ryan Lochte was going to be in town and might appear on 90210, we felt like we'd won a gold medal!" the program's executive producers Patti Carrand Lara Olsen badly quipped in a joint statement announcing the news. "Team Usa are all-stars in our book, and we're so excited he's making an appearance on the show. We only wish the episode was a surf event so we could have gotten him in the water, but he deserves a little rest on dry land." Indeed.
It's the first concrete date in the diary for Lochte, who has been courting attention from a variety of programs since his feats a couple of weeks ago. As well as a rumoured slot on the forthcoming series of 'Dancing With The Stars', there have been suggestions that he may appear on 'The Bachelor', too, although ABC have declined to comment on the subject.
