Salma Hayek Has Journeyed To Her Ancestral Home Of Lebanon For The First Time To See Where Her Father's Family Comes From.
The Mexican actress, whose grandfather was Lebanese, made the trip to premiere her new movie The Prophet, which she co-produced, in the capital Beirut later this week (beg27Apr15).
On Sunday (26Apr15), she headed to the mountain village of Bcharre to visit a museum dedicated to Khalil Gibran, the Lebanese poet who wrote the book on which her movie is based, and his tomb.
The visit comes just weeks after Hayek announced plans to donate money to help build schools for refugees in the country, and during her time in Lebanon, she met Syrian children who have been living there since fleeing the civil war in their homeland.
She is also slated to host a gala in Beirut to benefit a local children's charity.
