British artist Sam Taylor-Wood will combine the music of late legend JOHNNY CASH with the life of William Blake when she directs a film about the eighteenth century poet.

Taylor-Wood, who was convinced by the TYGER! TYGER! creator's worth by actor Ray Winstone, has drawn parallels between the MAN IN BLACK singer and Blake who died in 1827 - they were both religious and familiar with narcotics.

While he is best known for playing hard men in Sexy Beast and NIL BY MOUTH, Winstone will play Blake and singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson will play the part of God.

She says, "I'm trying to convince Ray that he should use Cash as the blueprint for Blake.

"I can't say I was that knowledgeable about Blake when Ray told me he was keen on the film."
