Scottish singer Sandi Thom has vowed to help try and ease the food crisis gripping impoverished countries after her recent visit to Malawi.
The rocker is supporting charity Oxfam's bid to raise $27 million (GBP15 million) to provide relief for the African country's poorest as food prices soar throughout the world.
And the star saw first hand the devastation the lack of affordable food has brought upon the Malawian people.
She says, "The visit opened my eyes to the extent of the poverty, the harsh reality of how some people live and how rising food prices are affecting them.
"You have to ask yourself what you would do if you were in the situation many Malawians face."
