Alec Baldwin has received a Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

The '30 Rock' actor's tribute was unveiled yesterday (14.02.11) outside Eva Longoria's restaurant Beso on Hollywood Boulevard - just seven blocks away from his ex-wife Kim Basinger's star.

The 52-year-old actor is thrilled about the honour and says it is also special for his 15-year-old daughter Ireland, his child with Kim.

He said: "I'm kind of blown away. My daughter has the distinction of both of her parents have this. I think it's kind of cool for my kid."

Alex was awarded the star for his TV accomplishments - which include 15 stints as host of 'Saturday Night Live' and two seasons on 'Knot's Landing' - but admitted during the ceremony he was initially reluctant to commit to working on a long-running series such as '30 Rock' until he acted on 'Will & Grace'.

He said: "I didn't think this was something I wanted to do, to commit to a show, to sign a contract for years on end.

"I made films and worked in the theatre and there's a lot of Diversity there and that's kind of an advantage. But then I did 'Will & Grace' and had the best time of my life. Working with Megan [Mullally] on that show ... I realised it was a lot of fun. It inspired me to do this."

'30 Rock' was first shown in 2006 and has gone on to win a host of top awards.
