Scarlett Johansson has been reunited with her pet dog on the set of WOODY ALLEN's latest movie in London - after French officials reportedly threatened to exterminate the canine.

The Lost In Translation actress, who is currently in the British capital filming the yet-to-be-titled thriller, has finally been reacquainted with her Chihuahua MAGGIE.

But, members of Johansson's entourage had to firstly convinced customs officials at Paris' Charles De Gaulle airport to allow the animal to travel to England.

A source explains, "Maggie was on her way to join Scarlett via Paris but the officials at Charles De Gaulle airport felt that she was not fit to travel and wanted to exterminate her.

"Scarlett was distraught. Immediately she rushed her people off to Paris to plead for Maggie's life.

"Mercifully, they relented and one very relieved teacup Chihuahua has now been reunited with its owner in London."
