Scarlett Johansson has hinted that she'd like to star in her very own Black Widow comic book adaptation. An article from Screen Rant today (April 25, 2012) confirms that the Black Widow character will be absent from the forthcoming Iron Man 3 movie (starring Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow). What it also reveals though, is that Scarlett has been in talks with Marvel about the possibility of her own character branching out.
"I think that you build this kind of character in the hope that the fans are like, 'we want more," she explains. "I personally think there's an awesome Black Widow movie in there. A kind of Bourne film that would take the whole comic-book genre in a completely different direction. It'd be awesome." What about having to squeeze into that unforgiving outfit again, though? "Do I want to spend another three months shedding the manatee skin and squeezing back into that suit? Not necessarily, but it's all worth it in the end!" It seems that a Black Widow blockbuster is a distinct possibility, though, as she explains "I've spoken to Marvel about it and Kevin Feige," she continues, "and there's so much story to draw from, I think it'd be totally awesome."
Yesterday it was announced that the Oscar-nominated actress Jessica Chastain is in talks to join the cast of Iron Man3. Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce will also be reprising their roles in the Iron Man 'threequel.'
