Scotty Mccreery 's star has perhaps never been higher after the 'American Idol' winning alumni took the Best New Artist award at the recent Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. That coupled with sales of over one million copies for his debut album 'Clear As Day' in the US has meant that the young 18 year-old has become a household name in the States.
However he's set to temporarily turn his back on all of that come the Autumn, after confirming that he'll be going to college. "I'll be going to college in the fall," MCCreery told People magazine, "We're gonna work classes around [and] head out on the weekends on the road or something. We're gonna work it out." Admitting that he'd been offered places by four colleges, MCCreery said he was undecided on where he'd be going, stating "We're gonna figure it out and decide as a family, I grew up rooting for NC State, and that's where my dad went. But also, there are schools in Nashville that have been really great - and that's Music City so we'll see."
