Lady GaGa defied her record label bosses' ban on crowd surfing at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, Illinois last week (06Aug10) after becoming overexcited during her surprise set with rockers Semi Precious Weapons.
The Poker Face hitmaker joined the band, who supported her on her recent Monster Ball tour, to play drums on their song Magnetic Baby before ignoring security fears and stage-diving into the excited crowd with singer Justin Tranter.
But Gaga admits the crazy antic wasn't planned - and the impulsive act left her feeling "great".
She tells Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest, "I was so excited 'cause I haven't crowd-surfed in a long time 'cause no one lets me anymore.
"It was great. I love Semi Precious so much and they're my band... I don't know what came over me. I just got so excited and I remember playing that stage and what it felt like and they were doing such a great job... I just jumped."
Gaga later performed her own headlining set, returning to the festival three years after making a disastrous debut at the event in 2007, when she was a little-known singer.
